Understanding what motivates people is usually very hard for me. I think it's because I can't read minds. I believe that people operate from a positive place, that their motives for behavior are well-meaning. Sometimes it seems that I am wrong about this. Although it took some time and what felt like a major negotiation process, I was able to get a few things returned to me that have been in the hands of another for way too long. The return of these items actually means a lot to me. Not because of their material value or the fact that I use these items daily, but because I no longer have to wonder about and wait for another.
Joy is breaking the ties that bind.
